Helping Create Unique Homes at the Axis Building Hampton

Hotboys had a big part in the conversion of an existing space into the The AXIS building Hampton. It is the newest apartment community located in Peninsula Town Center in Hampton, Virginia. The 23 architectural loft-style apartments have been move-in ready since April 24, 2017. The apartments are available with 1 or 2 bedrooms as well as a studio model.

No two apartments are alike!

All of the apartments in the AXIS building are cat and dog friendly. Bring your furry friends with you too!

The sleek and functional layout is highlighted by glossy wood and muted tile flooring. It’s enhanced with stainless steel appliances. All units are cable and high speed internet ready. They also come with a dishwasher, trash compactor and a full range stove with exhaust fans.

The floor to ceiling windows allow for fantastic views of Peninsula Town Center itself and many of the apartments offer views of the newly installed playground and park. The windows highlight the vaulted ceilings, giving each loft a bright and airy feel.

Let’s not forget about the 28 efficient HVAC roof top systems that Hotboys installed. We featured a modern look for our exposed spiral ductwork in every unit. We love showing off our ductwork skills. We enjoyed our time at Peninsula Town Center and look forward to our future projects there.

Joining the AXIS family means that you will have access to their club house and fitness center. Every Saturday, the property management office offers what they call “Breakfast on the Go” in the club house. It doesn’t get any better than that! Celebrating Opening of Hair Cuttery at the Market Place at Tech Center

Today is an awesome day at the Hair Cuttery located in the Marketplace at Tech Center as you can see. This store recently opened and Hotboys was proud to be a part of building it. Mike Pincus from Pincus Construction along with WM Jordan and Hotboys collaborated on this project in Newport News’ newest commercial and retail business park, the Marketplace at Tech Center.

Hotboys provided a high-quality installation engineered to deliver precise energy efficient comfort. Our HVAC system includes custom duct fabrication and thermostatic controls. Customer and stylist alike will be comfortable in the new Hair Cuttery throughout their experience.

Loyalty to Rite Aid in Willow Oaks

Have you taken advantage of Rite Aid’s new Plenti rewards program? We were glad to be introduced to their new loyalty program after we completed work at the newest Rite Aid location in the Willow Oaks area off Fox Hill Road in Hampton, Virginia.

Rite Aid relocated from its long-serving location in the Willow Oaks Shopping Center to a block away. The new facility Hotboys helped build offers Express Checkout Pharmacy and 24 hour prescription services in a spacious 15,000 square foot store. We installed four massive, ultra-efficient air conditioning systems on the roof of the new Hampton Rite Aid store.

The new Rite Aid is beautifully decorated and has an efficient and thoughtfully created floor plan. The large floor plan makes it convenient to buy fresh milk, eggs or cheese at the same time as picking up prescriptions. To make your trip to the store more convenient, Rite Aid carries a myriad of household items like cleaning supplies, paper towels, and snacks.

Building Three New Target Optical Centers

Target’s New Optical Centers placed Hotboys in their vison for the HVAC work at 3 of their brand new vision centers:

Target Newport News in the Yoder Plaza shopping center
Target Glen Allen in the Brook Hollow Shopping Center and
Target Williamsburg at Monticello Marketplace.

Julie St. Louis from Groom Construction requested a mechanical contractor that had the ability to mobilize swiftly to accommodate the needs of this scope of work. Because Hotboys is so efficient in our commercial HVAC division, we were able to immediately begin construction.

From design to implementation, we were able to wrap the projects up at all three locations within 30 days. Bay Electric was also a crucial part in the launch of these new optical centers.

We are excited about the addition of optical centers to Target stores. Now you can go straight to your favorite Target store and get designer frames and contact lenses in the same trip as your usual household run.

Why Won’t My Heat Pump Reach Temperature

Virginia Beach Heat Pump Brrrr . . . it’s really cold outside. In Virginia Beach and the rest of Hampton Roads, when outdoor temperatures drop below 35 degrees, our heat pumps run more. But especially during the rare times when temperature approach 0 degrees, our heat pumps don’t seem to be able to keep up with the loss of heat in the home.

Let’s say you set your thermostat at 70 degrees, but your heat pump doesn’t seem to get above 68 degrees. As long as it’s not dropping many degrees below the thermostat temperature (in this case 70 degrees), the cause is probably the extremely cold weather not your heat pump.
